Going Bananas

Lily and I got a bag of bananas for $2 at Costco and decided to make some banana bread, I went the short distance from the kitchen to the computer to look up if it was baking powder or soda, turned around and my little flour sifter informed me" Oh no, mess!"
Instead of freaking out I laughed, turned around and grabbed the camera instead of the broom.

Then I thought about what this person had to say over five years ago. "If you are still in the process of raising children, be aware that the tiny fingerprints that show up on almost every newly cleaned surface, the toys scattered about the house, the piles and piles of laundry to be tackled will disappear all too soon and that you will—to your surprise—miss them profoundly."
As well as, "I believe that among the greatest lessons we are to learn in this short sojourn upon the earth are lessons that help us distinguish between what is important and what is not."
-Monson, Finding Joy in the Journey October 2008

The flour isn't important neither is the bread, it's this little flour face that once wiped is gone:(

Valentines Day

Valentines started off with my valentines, luke had taken all of my photos as a kid and put them into two photo albums and came home for lunch. I saw an idea on pinterest and revamped it to a balloon for every valentines we have spent together, with the year and what we did.

Went out to dinner at a new restaurant  and finished the day off with heart cupcakes.

Flash back to two years ago crazy!

D Day!

Happy Determining Gender Day. We ended up with some snow on the morning of Feb 3rd. We had a long over due appointment (25 weeks) to find out whether our life would have more pink or blue in the near future.
So after some convincing( fruit snacks) to get lily into the car instead of "play snow mommy" we were off.
I can't imagine what it must be like for those who wait until delivery to find out what it is. Perhaps anticipation helps as a pain med :)

Luke met us at the office and we told the tech that we would like her to write it down for us, unless there was an obvious its a boy glimpse. She put the DVD and pic with the "It's a girl" announcement in the envelope. We were going to go home and have lunch to open it but we didn't make it quite there. We  stopped to get something to eat and video recorded ourselves finding out. First me and then luke, his reaction was a little more funny something like "what ah you're kidding me"  :)
It was fun, then we sent it to family so they could see
And i took this picture from the DVD, on the left you can see her little nose and lips but she would rather play peekaboo, looks like lily will have a little buddy.
So excited!!!
PS: from my last post I would like to keep the transparency and say that we only had to try one more round than we did with lily with a little more invasive intervention....TOTALLY worth it! I guess one of the pros of infertility is seeing the whole picture, start to finish. I got to see what my follicles looked like and then the eventual eggs that would turn into a human being.
Here she is at only 5 weeks, nothing more than a bunch of cells in a little sack. Seriously, witnessing the creation of life blows my mind (every time)!
