The word 'Parenthood' evokes an idea in my head that it must be some physical place. Like the word neighborhood. I'm beginning to glimpse what being a mother is going to mean for the rest of my life. My sweet Lily, the purest soul I know who has blessed my home; made me contemplate and feel even more indebted to my Heavenly Father , causing me wonder what I could have possible done to deserve her presence in my life and the trusting responsibility to ensure her safety and joy throughout her life, I know now that wherever she physically goes I will be her parent, her guardian and ultimately eternal friend. Parenthood is the location of wherever my child is. I have now embarked on my Lilyhood journey. I'm cherishing every moment, for I know that too quickly my heart is going to break, be overflowing with joy and all the emotions in between as she grows and experiences life's sweetest times and desperate moments.
I also realize that it is not only what I have done in my life this far to be blessed and trusted with her but the trust He has in me for the rest of my lives path.
I don't think I have every written what inspired her name. I have been touched by this song on more than one occasion and have felt the spirit through the lyrics.

In particular the verse that says, 'consider the sweet tender children who must suffer on this earth, the pains of all of them He carried from the day of His birth.' It is the most beautiful song about the savior. While I was patiently waiting , ok who am I kidding, while I was sulking and swinging between hope and frustration for a child to come into my life, this song wouldn't leave my mind.
I am one of those children spoken of and so is Lily. I wanted to be reminded of the savior and his love every time I said her name and think of all the beauty that she brings to me.
He middle name is Megan. It is Welsh, meaning pearl. One of my favorite jewelry pieces, pure, elegant and white. It also happens to be the name of this woman

I do not remember ever meeting her, but she was from the ward my parents grew up in and that my grandparents still live in. She is an amazing person. So fun, spunky in touch with heaven and returned there just after the birth of her first daughter. I wanted to be reminded everyday what a pearl Lily is to me and no matter what that day brings that I should be grateful to be present for it.

Morning Nap
She just looked so perfect I had to snap a few,
and while she is sleeping I will post them.I'm sure some day my other children will wonder where all the pictures of them are. For now Lily is my photo obsession.
Happy 8 Week Birthday!
Laundry
I hated whenever I had piles of laundry to do, but she makes it look good. And at least she is smiling about it! I get picky about pictures and she has red eyes from my back up camera, I just found the charger to my good one. So to everyone out there look for the smiles in chores.

I KNOW...
I know it's going to be one of those days. she is all smiles after a nap followed by the sound
I know I heard across the house.
I know I picked her up and didn't see anything on the outside of her bundled blanket,
I know surprises in life are often on the inside. Like a present, box of chocolates. Poopy babies......
I know that my hands are going to get messy
I know that a wipe just isn't going to cut it and at least one bath is in the near future
I know I'm so happy I didn't put her in the cute outfit that she hasn't worn yet
I know that baby clothing companies are geniuses because they make light colored, mostly white clothes that will be met by a well feed baby.
I know that this girl is photogenic, happy even when I take pictures of her in her poop.
I know that I'm grateful, for the poop because that means I have been given a beautiful baby girl
I know I have her because of my great husband and can care for her at home because of him
What else do I know because of poop ?
Decoration
Nursing pads are not exactly in the Pottery Barn pages for spiffing up the house. At least I caught this and snapped a picture before company came over, although I should have left it to see how honest and observant people are...probably more observant than I.

Little Jumper
So Lily likes being upright, when shes not sleeping in her swing and is tired ,if I cuddle her she will want to eat and sometimes things...ie dishes need to get done. So I put her in this and in a few she will be out like a lite. This was Sunday evening right before the First Presidency Christmas Devotional. Then I took her out upon request from daddy who wanted some snuggle time.
On Monday at lunch she was fussy and Luke and I were eating so I grabbed the camera and took this quick video. Just goes to show how cute and content she can be and how disturbing Luke's normal cough can be.

I took these last night, still can decide what color eyes she will have, definitely not brown (Luke still says they will be) I'm thinking gray.

Little Ewok
So if you grew up with boys or are married to one of my relatives, you have seen this movie, Star Wars Return of the Jedi and that means you are familiar with these ,what I thought were cute cuddly mini bears. Lily just so happens to have a little soft pink outfit that reminds me of those Ewoks.
The outfit even has little ears, it keeps her warm and I like cuddling her in it. She even looks like an Ewok from the back when she is beating down my chest with her fists making her grunting noises when she thinks I have obviously forgotten she was hungry. But seriously Star Wars has nothing on this pink Ewok!
