Lily Hiccups

Lily Hiccups

Baby Lily

So my due date was Oct 19th, which came and went. My mom drove out that day and I had a Dr appointment that Friday which I fully intended on using bribery or any means necessary to get me to the hospital. Turned out it didn't take much to get there. I must have been worked up since my BP was 140/90 and then 140/100, that sealed the deal. Got a sandwhich for lunch at Jimmy Johns in preparation for a long day ahead. And took this last picture of just Luke and I. I think I should have worn his shirt:)
Luke chilling in the chair. I was checked into the hospital at 1:40 hooked up to the pitocin less than an hour later. The first nurse I had cranked it up and I was having contractions less than  2 min apart and thought I would take full advantage of legalized medication...bring on the epi! Got the epidural at 7:30 and was still at a 3. At 9 my Dr came in and checked me...a 3 STILL. I was thinking it would definitly be an all nighter. I think Lily and I have the same man crush on Jason Bourne. That was the movie on TV when my nurse came in and asked how things were going. She told me she would be back in a half hour and left the room, after the door closed I gripped the bed handle and told Luke to go get her because something was coming out. She came in and checked me, said I was at a 10 and not to push. The Dr came in and told me to push and then turned around and got his blue gear on, which let me know we were down to business. Less than 20 minutes later she was out 11:05 PM. They let me hold her for almost an hour before they took her over and got all the numbers, 8 lbs 21 inches. Amazing how fast babies go from purple to pink.

The next morning when she came back from the nursery.

At home after her first car ride. So excited baby Lilyan Megan is here with us.

Tis the season, for pumpkins!

Luke made me a finish breakfast, they were finnish spinach pancakes  "pinaattia pannukakkuja" translated spinach pancakes. I love the english language, and our pancakes. However, these were much healthier.

Me and little L at 38 weeks, before I went to quilt at Relief Soceity.

Love Halloween and replaced the candles with little light up pumpkins.

Can you spot the other decorations, I think I will leave the witch up all year as a warning!
I saw this little newborn outfit and thought that was as close and probably the most comfortable costume idea for her first Halloween, can't wait for Halloween

Who said that "NESTING" was cleaning and organizing. Here is my idea of nesting, a caulking gun :) I went a little crazy with it around the house. I did the kitchen counters and the downstairs bathroom floor.

Here is her crib decor, lady bugs. Now I just have to wait to put her in it. I also have the changing table with lady bugs and in the corner of the room is a brown glider with a nursing cover that my cousin's wife Ashley made for me. I love it so much I am tempted to walk around with it on and start a new style trend. It looks so professional. Ashley is well aquainted with her sewing machine...unlike a certain pregnant woman who shall remain nameless.

Glider with a framed tree, the leaves are firsts to look forward to with the baby, like fourth of July fireworks, first time swimming ect. A really cute idea from Whitney who threw me a baby shower last month. The same Whitney who took those great preggers pics.
Luke hung pink ballons in the room, so it looks like a birthdayparty is in the works.
Is that a baby in that Swaddle Me blanket, NO it's a football, the closest thing Luke could find to try out how it works. Almost put me into a panic attack thinking I will have to push out something that size :( Hopefully babies are more forgiving than NFL pigskin.
Hopefully This will be my last entry before this thing gets used. I'm ready...to not be patiently waiting :)

Pictures!

So glad that my friend Whitney was able to take some pictures of us in Eagle,ID before miss "L" comes into the world. I was 38 1/2 weeks, most people take pictures when they are smaller, but this way I can really remember how big I am. The night before pictures I was being checked out at the hospital to make sure my liver was ok. You know how they say if you feel any pain on your right side up by your ribs, well I had been feeling it for the last few days and my blood pressure spiked to 140/80. Just being cautious they ruled out preeclampsia and my blood pressure was fine, my usual 117/70. I told the nurse I could't have her that night cause I had pictures the next day. So after the liver blood test they said I could go. It was a good practice run to know where to go and what they would be doing. Part of me wanted to take a rain check for the next day, obviously she is completely content being squished up in there. So hitting 39 weeks yesterday I have my bag ready to go, who am I kidding I'm sure I will go a week over and be induced, but a girl can hope :)
Oh and Luke decided a few weeks ago that he won't shave until she comes, just to explain the manly scruff.

Take that Papa Murphys!

I married a man who LOVES pizza. He could eat it everyday. I like pizza and LOVE Luke, so I try and support his loves. My mom is the queen of homemade pizza so after some trial and error I have mastered the pizza dough but wanted to up the ante on the toppings. My favorite pizza is Papa Murphys Herb Chicken Mediterranean DeLite. So I took the toppings and tried it on my own. Here is how it turned out.

Welcome to the Jungle

Luke and I finally bought a much needed lawn mower, looked everywhere but ended up getting one at Lowes. The first time we mowed the lawn, I thought I should take a few pictures. As you can see it was much needed, 20 bag dumps later and 1 1/2 garbage cans full of grass!
